Question:

How do I renew my ILL?

Our answer:

You can request renewals for ILL items from within your ILLiad account. ILL renewals may be requested at least seven (7) days before the due date.  Overdue items are not eligible for renewal. The Resource Sharing team will make every effort to complete your renewal, however renewals are granted by the lending library.

If you are unsure how to access your ILLiad account, please refer to this FAQ: How do I log into my ILL account?

Once successfully logged in, select the "Details" button next to the item you would like to renew. This should be located under "Outstanding Requests."

Once the request information has loaded, your option to "Renew" will be located at the top of the page.

Reading from left to right, you will also have the option to "Edit Request" for items that are still in processing. The next option allows you to "Cancel Request" if you no longer need the item. The third option "Renew" will allow you to request a renewal. The final option "Resubmit Request" allows you to resubmit a request for an item you have previously requested and returned.

If your option to "Renew" is grayed out, that means the item is not eligible for renewal. Always assume your item is due by its original due date until your renewal is approved, at which point you will receive a notification with an updated due date. The updated due date will also be shown in your ILLiad account.
