What if the UBorrow/Interlibrary Loan item I requested is not available?

Our answer:

UBorrow items not available through the statewide network will be changed to an ILL request. Please register for the ILL service and make sure your ILLiad user profile is up to date. 
 

ILL will make every attempt to locate and request the loan of an item or an article scan. However, for an ILL request to be successful, ILL has to ascertain that a) the item is owned by an academic library and b) the owning library is willing or has permissions to loan the item. As a result, not every item will be available for loan, and you will be notified that it is presently unavailable. The request may then be referred to the Subject Specialist Librarian for purchase consideration or to find an alternate means of securing the item or an alternate resource.
