Question:

My ILLiad account is blocked. Now what?

Our answer:

FSU scholars are automatically blocked in ILLiad upon the third overdue notice. After your account is blocked, a replacement charge is added to your account and forwarded to Student Financial Services

Why is your account blocked?

Interlibrary Loan is a library-to-library service, and overdue items affect FSU Libraries' borrowing privileges. Continued non-return may lead to suspended access from our partner institutions, which can significantly impact the research and instructional needs of all FSU scholars.

As a research Institution, FSU Libraries depend on the generosity of libraries across the country and around the world. Being blocked by any one of these partners limits our ability to obtain materials for the entire FSU community. We appreciate your help in maintaining these relationships.

 What this means:

  • Your account with Student Financial Services is billed the replacement cost.
  • Your ILLiad account is blocked for the remainder of the semester.
    • This restricts your ability to submit new loan requests through ILLiad.
  • You may still request articles or book chapters during this time.

Reinstating ILLiad Access:

To begin the reinstatement process for your ILLiad account, please return the item immediately:

  1. Return to the INSIDE book drop at any FSU Libraries location.
  2. Use LEDS pickup if you are eligible for that service.

** Leave the ILL strap on the item when returning the material **
