Question:

What is UBorrow?

Our answer:

UBorrow allows you to request materials not available at FSU Libraries directly from participating libraries within Florida's state university and college systems. This unmediated borrowing service increases your access to the collections of the other universities and colleges in Florida.

You can access the UBorrow search in two ways. The first is to go to the Library Homepage, and select the "Find and Borrow" icon.

On the Find and Borrow page, select the link that says "UBorrow Search" to access the UBorrow Statewide Catalog.

You can also access the UBorrow Statewide Catalog by selecting the drop-down next to the search bar, and clicking "Statewide Catalog."

Once you've located an item available to request through UBorrow, click the link under the result that says "Check for available services."

This will open up the item's record and show request options. Under the "How To Get It" section header, click "UBorrow Request" to open up the UBorrow request form.

Note: You must be signed in in order to see the request options and to place a request. If you are not signed in, you will be prompted to do so under "How To Get It."

Some of the information in the form will be auto-populated based on the item's record. Within the form, make sure you select the correct "Pickup Location" from the options available, and then click "Send Request."

You are able to check on the status of your UBorrow request by logging in to your Library Account, as well as request renewals and confirm due dates. You will receive an email notification once your item is available for pickup at your library location.
