Question:

What is the difference between scholarly and popular articles?

Our answer:

Scholarly articles are generally in-depth accounts of research, written by and for academics and professionals in their field of academic interest. Articles in scholarly journals often have been reviewed by an editorial board or have gone through some type of peer-review process. Popular articles are  typically written for the general public and therefore uses less formal language and citations for the sources. NPR and BBC are two examples of reputable, popular sources of information. You can find more information on this FSU Libraries Research Guide.
